Permit Fees: The base valuation to determine permit fees for residential buildings and additions are based on a dollar per square foot schedule per the following. For remodels and renovations, the total bid price is the base valuation:

Finished habitable space $63.00 per square foot *

Finished basements $24.00 per square foot *

Unfinished space (basements and upper levels) $18.00 per square foot *

Attached garages $20.00 per square foot *

Detached garages $18.00 per square foot *

A flat $20.00 permit feet is charged for residential re-shingling, residing, windows, swimming pool fence enclosures, and razing permits.

Additional fees may be implemented for reinspections.
* 2005 Valuations. These valuations are adjusted on a yearly basis.
Work commencing before permit issuance. Any person who commences any work on a building, structure, electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing system before obtaining the necessary permits shall be subject to an additional fee established by the building official that shall be in addition to the required permit fees. Legal and/or civil proceedings may also be commenced.
