REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

The purpose of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is to identify interested transportation providers with available trained drivers and accessible vehicles (when necessary) to provide transportation services for persons eligible for Sioux Falls Transit’s complimentary paratransit service. The transportation services provided will be within Sioux Falls Transit’s designated paratransit service area (see Appendix A) beginning each day, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays recognized by Sioux Falls Transit, from 7:30 p.m. –10 p.m. Service will be for medical and work-related rides only. Rides for recreational purposes will not be provided at the expense of the Procuring Agency.

The Procuring Agency will accept proposals for 1) ambulatory riders only, 2) non-ambulatory riders only, and/or 3) both ambulatory and non-ambulatory riders. The Procuring Agency anticipates entering into a Transportation Services Agreement with a qualified transportation company to provide this service from the award date through December 31, 2009, with the option to extent the contract for a period not to exceed one year by mutual agreement of the parties.
