CityLink 16 Sponsorships
The City of Sioux Falls is accepting underwriting sponsorships to help support the cost of government programming on CityLink 16; provided that, the sponsorships are in conformance with the principles and guidelines set forth in the CityLink 16 Government Programming Sponsorship Policy, Principles, and Guidelines.
These principles and guidelines are based in part upon those requirements applicable to public broadcasters and the applicable provisions of any franchise agreement currently in effect with the City, and are necessary to ensure that CityLink 16 government programming maintains its noncommercial character. The sponsorship policy and its supporting principles and guidelines will be implemented by CityLink 16.
For purposes of these principles and guidelines, a "sponsor" is a third party business, partnership, firm, company, corporation, or foundation that has voluntarily contributed cash (or substantial in-kind services) to finance, in whole or in part, the production or acquisition of programming shown on the City of Sioux Falls’ Government Access channel known as "CityLink 16"; and a "spot" is any form of sponsorship credit given in conjunction with underwriting provided for a CityLink 16 government production, no more than 15 seconds in duration, produced by CityLink 16 or its designee, acknowledging the program sponsorship, and meeting the requirements described herein.
Funds received through the sponsorship program will be restricted to funding of television government programming on CityLink 16, in accordance with the principles and guidelines set forth herein. The City will invite and accept sponsorships from private, public, and Internal Revenue Service certified nonprofit entities. When a sponsorship has been approved, CityLink 16 will produce a spot to be cablecast on CityLink 16.
