Funds are provided to Sioux Falls Housing Corporation for acquisition costs of older homes that are contributing to neighborhood deterioration. The condition of these homes is such that renovation by the private owner may not be financially feasible. After acquisition, these homes will be replaced or rehabilitated and sold to households with incomes at or below 80 percent of the median family income. Replacement or rehabilitation will be undertaken with the use of a combination of federal and local dollars.
This program helps halt the deterioration of older neighborhoods, as well as provide more options to low-income homebuyers.
