The Civil Service Board conducts hearings and renders decisions in response to appeals from civil service employees from action resulting in reduction, suspension, demotion, or discharge by City management. The Board has the power to administer oaths and the power to secure by its subpoena both the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of papers relevant to the hearing if necessary.
