The purpose of this board is to review the current waste stream of the users of the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill. Duties include an assessment of ordinances and statutes; review of the availability of markets for recyclable materials on the local, regional, and national scale, including collection sites, actual recycling operations, prices, and any related matters; develop or approve plans to achieve waste reduction, establish recycling goals and make ongoing reports to the Mayor of its findings and recommendations.
