Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a fire at 5415 W. Dardanella Road at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke and flames coming from the 1st and 2nd floor of the 3 story apartment building. The fire was under control within 10 minutes. Fire damage was contained to the outside of the building, with some smoke damage in apartment 109. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 14 firefighters on three fire trucks and two support vehicles.

All of the residence evacuated the building safely. There was one firefighter injury due to a hydraulic line failure on a fire truck. The cause of the fire appears to be from a malfunctioning air conditioning unit on the deck.
