The Butterfly Puppet Theatre of Rapid City, South Dakota, will perform Fairrah’s Christmas Party, a puppet show for three-year-olds and up, at the Oak View Branch of Siouxland Libraries on Monday, December 17, 2007.
Performances will be given at 10:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. Puppet show admission is first come, first served, but groups of ten or more must register in advance to attend by calling 367-8710.
Fairrah’s Christmas Party is the story of Fairrah Spigot, a pink dragon who thinks she needs a full-sized Christmas tree for the party she is giving in her new apartment. Through the help and musical talents of her guests: Granny; the Forest Gnomes; Ernie, Bernie, and Vernie; and Hal, her saxophone-playing neighbor, she learns that a sparkle-fruit seedling will make her Christmas party complete.
Butterfly Puppet Theatre has been presenting musical people-and-puppet performances since 1979. Butterfly’s two members, Leonard Running and Sue Hey, combine superbly crafted original puppets and characters with tightly woven musical comedy for a unique live family theater experience.
