Title: Crime of the Week: Stolen Car

The Sioux Falls Police Department would like the public’s help finding the person responsible for the theft of a car which was recovered after a pursuit that ended when the car crashed into a building and burned.

The car was stolen from the 900 block of North Walts Avenue on the morning of November 15, 2007, when it was left running to warm up. At about 4 a.m. on November 17, Police located the car driving erratically at the intersection of Madison Street and Louise Avenue.

A short pursuit took place and the car was found crashed into the Midwest Mowing building at 601 South Lyons Boulevard. It came to rest on several mowers and started on fire. The suspect had fled. Total loss is estimated at $27,000.
