On September 2, 2007, at approximately 1:20 a.m. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 405 N. Van Eps Avenue.
Firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the house on arrival. Firefighters could see smoke and flames coming from the attic of the house. Firefighters entered the house and extinguished the fire in the attic. The fire was contained to the attic. The residents had evacuated the house before firefighters arrived on scene. There was smoke damage to the first floor of the house and fire damage in the attic area. Six fire trucks with 18 firefighters were at the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
