On April 23, 2008, at 5:37 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a grass fire located just west of the 1900 block of East Tracey Lane.

The fire was located in a wooded area that was not accessible by fire trucks. Fire crews operated with hand tools and did lay approximately 850 feet of fire hose to extinguish the fire. Four fire trucks and 2 support vehicles along with 15 firefighters responded to the fire.

An illegal campfire was the cause of the fire.
