On August 1, 2008, at 9:50 p.m., the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to Sixth Street and Minnesota Avenue on a report of a man down.

Responding officers found a 36-year-old male with a severe knife wound to the upper right chest area. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The subsequent investigation by detectives discovered that the actual assault occurred in the 300 block of North Spring Avenue outside of a residence.

On August 4, 2008, an arrest was made regarding this assault. Arrested was Pedro Ramos-Solorzano, 33, of Sioux Falls. He was lodged in the Minnehaha County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault and is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond.
