Title: Diversity Council Website and First Neighborhood Listening and Sharing Session

The Sioux Falls Diversity Council has identified as one of its priorities the need to have individual citizens and organized groups provide input to the Council about ways to promote cultural understanding in our community. In order to allow the gathering and sharing of this valuable information, the Diversity Council has created a website which is now available to the public.

The Diversity Council’s Website, www.sfdiversitycouncil.org, contains information about the members of the Diversity Council and about how and why the Council was created. The website lists diversity projects that are planned for the city and contains information about becoming involved in these or future diversity projects. The Council’s meeting dates, agendas, and minutes are posted on the site. It’s a one-stop diversity shop! Visit often to keep up with news and events.

In addition, the Council will be holding a series of neighborhood sharing and listening sessions at various locations in the city so that people and groups may share their hopes and visions for the future of Sioux Falls.

The first neighborhood sharing and listening session is scheduled for Monday, August 11, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the Oyate Community Center located at 2421 West 15th Street. Neighborhood and other city residents are invited to attend and share their thoughts on feeling safe, respected, and valued as members of the Sioux Falls community.
