August is National Immunization Awareness Month.
The Sioux Falls Health Department and Falls Community Health would like to take this opportunity to remind the community of the importance of immunizations and to make sure that you and your family’s immunizations are up-to-date.
In August, parents are enrolling children in school, older students are entering college, and the health care community is preparing for the upcoming flu season. This makes August a good time to focus community attention on the fact that vaccines are responsible for the control of many infectious diseases. Vaccines offer safe and effective protection from infectious diseases. By staying up-to-date on the recommended vaccines, people can protect themselves, their families and friends, and their communities from serious, life-threatening infections.
As you prepare to take your children to school this fall, if you have questions regarding the status of your child’s immunizations, please contact Falls Community Health at 605-367-8793. |
