Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is proud to announce that it as been reaccredited by the Commission for Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). SFFR was first accredited in 2003. Accreditation is a rigorous process and provides an excellent self-assessment and peer review for outstanding fire and rescue agencies across the United States. Of the approximately 32,000 fire departments in the nation, only 127 have achieved accredited status.
Fire Chief Donn Hill says, “Reaccredidation demonstrates the continued commitment of the men and women of SFFR to provide the highest quality service to our community. We use the process to continuously evaluate our service to the community, future planning, program management, and emergency response.”
Earlier this year, a peer assessment team completed an on-site evaluation of Sioux Falls city government, policies, procedures, and processes as they relate to 244 performance indicators and 77 core competencies, which are part of the assessment process.
