At approximately 5:00 p.m., on August 24, 2008, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a garage fire at 1301 North Lincoln Avenue. First arriving units reported a two stall detached garage on fire. A wooden fence to the west of the garage was also burning. The fire was under control within 20 minutes. The garage sustained damage to some siding, and the roof on the west side of the structure. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 3 fire trucks, 2 support vehicles, and 14 firefighters. The cause of the fire was young children playing with fireworks.
Please remind the public to keep fireworks away from young children.
