NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROGRAM OF PROJECTS FOR CY 2008

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Sioux Falls on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 3:45 p.m. in the meeting room at City Hall, 1st Floor, 224 W. 9th St., for the purpose of considering projects for which federal assistance is being sought. This building is accessible to persons with disabilities. The federal assistance being sought is in the form of Section 5307 and Section 5309 funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and is generally described as follows:

Urbanized Area: Sioux Falls, SD; Designated Recipient/Grantee: City of Sioux Falls, SD:

Section 5307—$1,976,504; Previous Year’s Funding—$0; Carry-over Funds—$0; Total 5307 Federal Funds Available—$1,976,504.

Section 5309—$1,570,000; Previous Year’s Funding—$1,000,000;
Carry-over Funds—$1,715,927; Total 5309 Federal Funds Available—$4,285,927.

Project Description: Local Amount; Federal Amount; State Amount; Total Amount.

I. Operating: Operating assistance for period 01/01/2008–12/31/2008: $4,623,738; $1,976,504; $46,575; $6,646,817.

II. Capital: Seventeen replacement buses (30' fixed route):
$1,071,000; $4,284,000; $0; $5,355,000.
Concrete for bus stops: $2,000; $8,000; $0; $10,000.

Total Program Costs: $5,696,738; $6,268,504; $46,575; $12,011,817.

The proposed Program of Projects is available for public inspection at the City of Sioux Falls Planning Office, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 224 W. 9th St., P.O. Box 7402, Sioux Falls, SD, 57117-7402. Written comments may be submitted to the above address. The comment period will remain open through March 3, 2008. Upon completion of the public comment period and any necessary revisions, the proposed Program of Projects, a Section 5307 grant application, and a Section 5309 grant application will be submitted to the FTA for the requested funding. This proposed Program of Projects will also be the final Program of Projects unless amended.
