At approximately 7:30 p.m., July 22, 2008, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to the report of a structure fire at 515 South Duluth Avenue. First arriving units reported smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story house. The fire was quickly located in a bedroom on the first floor. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews extinguished the fire and confined it to the room of origin. There was fire damage on the first floor and smoke damage to the second story.
Smoke detectors alerted the residents that there was a fire, and they were all out of the structure when Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews arrived. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to check their smoke detectors. Four fire trucks and three support vehicles responded to the fire along with 19 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
