On June 2, 2008, at 11:50 p.m., Sioux Falls Police made an arrest as a result of an online chat investigation.

The arrest was a result of a 3½-month investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Detective. The suspect traveled from Mitchell to Sioux Falls to have sexual contact with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. The suspect was arrested in a park without incident.

Kirk Jeffrey Engman, 38, of Mitchell, was charged with attempted sexual contact with a child under 16, solicitation of a minor, and driving revoked.
