Title: Notice of Proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Goal for Federally Assisted Projects for Federal Fiscal Year 2009


Pursuant to 49 DFR Part 26, the City of Sioux Falls hereby gives notice of its intent to propose an overall percentage goal for participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) including Women Business Enterprise (WBEs), in federally assisted projects funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Department of Transportation (DOT), or any other funding agency as may be utilized during the federal fiscal year beginning October 1, 2008, and ending September 30, 2009, as follows:

  • HUD: 4.3% (DBE 3.3% WBE 1.0%)
  • DOT: 7.8% (DBE 5.9% WBE 1.9%)
  • EPA: 5.0% (DBE 4.0% WBE 1.0%)
  • All Other Agencies: 4.3% (DBE 3.3% WBE 1.0%)


Beginning on the date of publication of this notice, and continuing for 30 days thereafter, a statement regarding this proposed goal and how it was selected is available for review from the Contract Compliance Specialist, Community Development, 235 W. Tenth St., P.O. Box 7402, Sioux Falls, SD 57117-7402. Written comments regarding the proposed goal and the manner of its selection may be submitted to the Community Development Department until July 10, 2008. Written comments must include the name and address of the person submitting the comment.

There will be a public meeting held at the Department of Community Development Conference Room, 235 W. Tenth St., from 3 to 5 p.m., June 13, 2008, for any interested party to discuss the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goals for federal fiscal year 2009. The facility is ADA accessible and, upon request, accommodations for persons with disabilities will be provided.
