On June 12, 2008, at approximately 1820 hours, a 22-year-old female who was walking in Riverdale Park was bitten by a brown and white Pit Bull that was wearing a silver choke collar. After the incident, the dog ran off and Animal Control was unable to locate an owner. The victim sustained minor injuries to her hand and was treated at Avera McKennan Hospital.

Sioux Falls Animal Control is asking that anyone with information about this incident or knowledge of this animal’s whereabouts please call 367-7000. It is important to locate the animal in order to monitor its health and remove any concerns of rabies transmission to the victim.
