On Saturday, June 21, 2008, traffic officers of the Sioux Falls Police Department worked a speed and seatbelt saturation patrol during daytime hours. Officers focused on streets of Sioux Falls that are known to be high speed or high crash areas. Officers working this detail wrote a total of 141 citations which included 68 speeding and 26 seatbelt citations.

The Sioux Falls Police Department will continue to be proactive in speed, seatbelt, and DWI enforcement during the summer months. Also, please be aware of the speed limits in construction zones and detour routes during the summer months. Officers will continue to be enforcing traffic laws in these areas in an effort to reduce speeds and keep everyone safe.
