City Council Candidates, from the Northeast District and Southwest District, will participate in a public debate beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th at the City Council Chambers in the Carnegie Town Hall, 235 W. Tenth St.
The League of Women Voters, the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Sioux Falls, are sponsoring the forum.
The League of Women Voters will moderate the forum. The City Clerk’s Office staff will monitor the telephones and will take questions, which will be forwarded to the League’s question sorters. Residents may call 367-8080 to give their question. The debates may be viewed online at www.siouxfalls.org and on Channel 16.
City Council Candidates, from the At-Large and Northwest Districts, participated in a forum on Tuesday. The 10 proposed Charter amendments were also discussed.
Both sessions will rebroadcast on Channel 16 at: 2:00 p.m. Saturday; 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3rd; and 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5th.
Absentee voting begins on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the Auditor’s Office, in the Minnehaha County Administration Building, 415 N. Dakota Ave. Residents will also be able to vote absentee on Saturday, April 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
The Sioux Falls Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2008. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
