Beginning on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, construction crews will begin work on Indiana Avenue between Sixth Street and Eighth Street. Work will include pavement removal, utility repairs, new curb and gutter, and new asphalt paving.

Indiana Avenue between Sixth Street and Eighth Street will be closed to traffic for the duration of this phase of the project. The intersection of Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue is included in this closure. Through-traffic on Sixth Street and Eighth Street will be unaffected by this project. Motorists should use Fairfax Avenue or Franklin Avenue as a detour route. Indiana Avenue is expected to reopen to traffic by the middle of June.

The prime contractor for this project is Zacharias Construction, Inc. of Hartford, SD.
