Compete on one of the best track and field athletic facilities South Dakota has to offer during the annual Hershey Track Meet. Sponsored by Hershey Food Corporation and Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation, the Hershey Track Meet will be held at Howard Wood Field on Sunday, May 18, 2008. This meet is for girls and boys ages 9 to 14, as of December 31, 2008. No special equipment is needed and no starting blocks or spikes are allowed.

Each participant may choose two running events and one field event, or one running event and two field events. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and there is no cost to participate.

The top two finishers in each event will qualify for the state meet on June 28, 2008, in Watertown. The state winners have a chance to advance to the national meet held on July 31 through August 3, 2008, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
