Beginning on Monday, May 19, 2008, construction crews will begin work in the intersection of Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue. Work will include pavement removal, utility repairs, new curb and gutter, and new asphalt paving.

The intersection of Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue will be closed to traffic for the duration of this phase of the project. Motorists should use Indiana Avenue as a detour route. The intersection is expected to reopen to traffic by the middle of June.

The prime contractor for this project is Zacharias Construction, Inc. of Hartford, South Dakota.
