Title: Water Rescue at 300 E. Falls Park Drive

At 1:35 p.m. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a water rescue incident located at 300 E. Falls Park Drive.

On arrival, firefighters found two adults in the middle of the river. The adults were just north of the low head dam. Firefighters threw a water rescue rope to the adults and pulled them to shore. One of the adults was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Six fire units with 13 firefighters were at the scene.

As a public safety message, please remember that the river’s water level is high at this time and the current is fast. It is not safe to go into the river. The water temperature this time of year is very cold. Immersion in cold water can result hypothermia.
