On May 21, 2008, Sioux Falls Police Detectives conducted an extensive investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving several juvenile male victims over about a five-year period. This information was reported to police late in the evening of May 20, 2008.

Information provided to detectives during the investigation led to an arrest warrant for Todd Ronald Brim, 41 years old, of 300 North Franklin Avenue.

Brim, a convicted sex offender, was arrested without incident at a residence in the 1900 block of East 31st Street North. Brim has been lodged at the Minnehaha County Jail for three counts of rape in the first degree and three counts of rape in the second degree.

Investigators are confident that Brim has had contact with other victims. This type of crime is very difficult for a victim to disclose and the long-term effects can be devastating. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children if they think they have had contact with Brim.
