Title: Milk Recall for Public Safety Purposes

(Pierre, SD)---The South Dakota Department of Agriculture (SDDA) has issued a recall of all half-gallon 1% Hy-Vee Health Market Milk with a product code date before June 2, 2008. This milk has been recalled for a potential health risk due to improper pasteurization.

The SDDA advises consumers with the half-gallon 1% Hy-Vee Health Market Milk with a product code date before June 2, 2008 to not consume this milk. Unpasteurized milk can contain harmful bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter or Listeria that can cause life-threatening illness for certain individuals.

Any half-gallon 1% Hy-Vee Health Market Milk with a product code dated after June 2, 2008 has tested safe for human consumption.

Any remaining milk may be returned to the store of purchase for refund. If you have any questions, contact the store where the milk was purchased or Phil Forbes of Farmers’ All Natural Creamery at 319-646-2004.
