On Saturday, May 24, 2008, traffic officers of the Sioux Falls Police Department worked a speed and seat belt saturation patrol during daytime hours. Officers focused on streets of Sioux Falls that are known to be high speed or high crash areas. Officers working this detail wrote a total of 113 citations which included 67 speeding and 23 seat belt citations.

The Sioux Falls Police Department will continue to be proactive in speed, seat belt, and DWI enforcement during the summer months in an effort to reduce crashes. We will work additional saturation patrols in the weeks ahead.
