On August 24, 2009, at 0230, officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge located at 5100 North Cliff Avenue for a robbery. At the scene, officers met with a hotel employee who advised that a male wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and a dark colored bandana entered the business demanding money. Upon seeing the suspect enter, the employee immediately stepped into a side room, locked the room’s door, and called police. The suspect fled on foot before taking any money. There were no injuries reported and no weapon was seen.
