Beginning on Monday, July 13, 2009, construction crews will begin work on Duluth Avenue between Third Street and Fifth Street. Work will include pavement removal, utility repairs, new curb and gutter construction, asphalt milling, and asphalt paving.

This stretch of Duluth Avenue will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. This closure includes the intersections of Fourth Street and Duluth Avenue and Fifth Street and Duluth Avenue. Through traffic on Third Street will not be affected by this project. Motorists should use Prairie Avenue as a detour route.

Duluth Avenue is expected to reopen to traffic by mid to late August.

The prime contractor for this project is Oliver Excavating, Inc. of Tea, SD.
