On Wednesday, July 15, 2009, Downtown Sioux Falls will be hosting their annual Hot Summer Nites in downtown Sioux Falls. This event will involve a large number of corvettes, motorcycles, and people in the downtown area.

Starting at 4 p.m., Phillips Avenue from Ninth Street to 14th Street will be closed to through-traffic. At 6:30 p.m., the Sioux Falls Police Department will be providing an escort for the motorcycles from J & L Harley-Davidson to the event area.

The escort will be going down the following route: South on Westport to Russell Street, east to Minnesota Avenue, south to 14th Street, east to Phillips Avenue, and north on Phillips Avenue into the event area.

The event will go until 10 p.m., at which time the cars and motorcycles will be leaving the event area. The streets will be opened up for normal traffic by 11 p.m.

People coming to the event, or traveling in the downtown area, are encouraged to be patient and allow a little extra time on Wednesday evening during the event.
