Title: Public Notice: Proposed 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan

PUBLIC NOTICE

This notice provides the public the opportunity to examine and comment on the proposed 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan for the City of Sioux Falls for a period of 30 days.

The Consolidated Plan identifies housing and community development needs in Sioux Falls and the strategy for addressing those needs in the next five years. The Action Plan lists the proposed activities identified to receive funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program in 2010. The Department of Housing and Urban Development requires the jurisdiction to have an action plan before applications can be submitted for future program funding.

The City anticipates that these projects will not cause displacement of existing households.

The Action Plan is available for review at the following locations:

  • Community Development, 235 West 10th Street
  • Main Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue
  • Caille Branch Library, 4100 Carnegie Circle
  • Oak View Branch Library, 3700 East 3rd Street
  • Ronning Branch Library, 3100 East 49th Street

The 30-day comment period will end on November 9, 2009. Anyone wishing additional information on the proposed activities may contact the Community Development office at 235 West 10th Street, or call 367-8180 (voice) or 367-7039 (TTY for Hearing Impaired).

Persons wishing to comment on the proposed plan should do so in writing to Community Development, PO Box 7402, Sioux Falls, 57117-7402. Written comments must include the name and address of the person submitting the comment.

The Community Development Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on October 28, 2009, at 4 p.m., in the conference room of the Community Development office for anyone wishing to discuss written comments. The facility is ADA accessible and, upon request, accommodations for persons with disabilities will be provided. Please call 367-8180 (voice) or 367-7039 (TTY for Hearing Impaired) at least 48 hours in advance if special accommodations are necessary.
