At approximately 12:46 a.m. on September 3, 2009 Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 1318 North Minnesota Avenue. First arriving units reported flames coming from the structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. There was heavy fire damaged to the entire structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The residents were out of the structure when Sioux Falls Fire Rescue arrived. One resident received minor burns and was transported to the hospital. There were no other injuries reported. There were no smoke alarms in the house, and the house did not have a residential fire sprinkler system.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with five fire trucks, three support vehicles, and twenty four firefighters. Red Cross was on scene to assist the residents.
