Updated information on the occupants of the single vehicle fatal crash on I-29 on September 16, 2009.

The driver of the 1998 Ford Windstar Van was Abate, Behilu G., a 26-year-old Sioux Falls resident. He was transported to Sanford Health Hospital via Rural/Metro Ambulance and treated for minor injuries.

The passenger was Desalegne, Kebede A., a 40-year-old Sioux Falls resident. He died at the scene from injuries he received in the crash.

The investigation has shown excessive speed and an inexperienced driver to be two of the causal factors. The investigation continues.
