Sioux Falls is forecasted to receive up to three inches of rain from Thursday evening through Friday. Because of this, Sioux Falls residents and businesses have been asked to restrict water use whenever possible until Saturday morning, August 14, 2010.
This includes delaying washing clothes and dishwashing, selective flushing of toilets, shorter showers, and absolutely no lawn watering.
"The more cooperative and neighborly that we are by restricting our water use over the next 24 to 48 hours greatly reduces the chances for sewage backups and overflow into the Big Sioux River," according to Mayor Mike Huether.
"Your neighbors need you Sioux Falls. Thanks so much for your continued efforts." |
