Beginning on Saturday, August 21, 2010, construction crews will begin work on the eastbound lanes of Russell Street between the Big Sioux River bridge and Minnesota Avenue.

Work will include pavement repair and asphalt overlay on the existing concrete surface.

This work will be done in multiple phases which will include lane and intersection closures. Left turns will be prohibited periodically during construction. This phase of the project will reduce eastbound traffic to one lane from Minnesota Avenue to the Big Sioux River bridge. Traffic delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

The prime contractor for this project is Seal Pros, Inc. of Harrisburg, SD.
