At 4:13 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010, a passerby reported that there was a vehicle on fire in the 400 block of South Menlo Avenue.
When Police and Fire personnel arrived on the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. When the fire was extinguished, human remains were found in the vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for an autopsy at a later date.
The identity and descriptors of the victim have yet to be identified. The cause of death has yet to be determined. The investigation into the fire is being treated as an arson and the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death is being treated as a homicide. The investigation is continuing.

The Sioux Falls Police Department is continuing their investigation into the car fire and homicide which occurred in the 400 block of South Menlo Avenue on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
No new details are available for release. An autopsy has been completed. The exact cause of death and a positive identification of the victim has yet to be determined. |
