At 1:34 p.m. on August 23, 2010, Sioux Falls Police, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, and Rural/Metro Ambulance responded to a report of an accident at the construction site at 18th Street and Grange Avenue.

Investigation at the scene showed that 31-year-old Jason Bauer of Omaha, Nebraska, fell from a wall when several steel beams gave way. Bauer's safety line had been attached to one of the beams.

Bauer was taken to Sanford Emergency room with life-threatening injuries.
