The 2010 Minnehaha County Firefighters’ Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the middle section of the Expo Building at the W. H. Lyons Fairgrounds. This ceremony is being held in conjunction with the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance to reflect and honor those firefighters who have died.

This event will start with a procession of Minnehaha County Fire Department fire trucks and emergency vehicles at 10:30 a.m. with the ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. The procession will begin at Fire Station 3, located at 2820 South Minnesota Avenue, and will finish at the fairgrounds.

Immediately following the ceremony, games and activities will be available for children and their families. Concessions will also be available after the service. Firefighters, their families, and the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.
