Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene of a structure fire at 911 North Walts Avenue at 9:48 p.m. Friday evening. Initial reports indicated that an unknown number of persons were inside the structure.

The first arriving unit reported flames on approach and identified the burning structure as an unattached garage rather than the home. A second unit confirmed that the occupants of the home were not endangered by the fire.

Crews extinguished the fire in less than ten minutes. The cause is under investigation.

Propane and charcoal grills must only be used outdoors. Position the grill well away from siding and deck railings. Make sure that it is not placed under eaves or overhanging branches. Keep the grill a safe distance from play areas and pathways.
