The Sioux Falls Police Department is proud to announce that it will be hosting its “Citizens’ Police Academy.”

The Academy consists of training in police topics such as patrol procedures, K-9 operations, crime scene processing, crime prevention, and investigative methods of fraud, narcotics, theft, and assaults. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for eight weeks.

The 2010 spring session begins March 18 and ends May 6. The classes will be conducted at the Sioux Falls Law Enforcement Center, located at 320 West Fourth Street. Class size is limited. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend. Application deadline is Friday, February 26, 2010.
