On February 21, 2010, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Sioux Falls Police went to 615 West Bennett Street, No. 1, to talk with a male who had questions about his ability to own firearms because of his criminal history.
When the officers arrived, they found that the male had barricaded his door shut with electronic equipment and what appeared to be a gasoline can. He also refused to talk with officers.
Phone contact was made with the male who continued to refuse to come out of his home. At approximately 4 a.m., the Sioux Falls Police Department’s special response units were activated. At around 2 p.m., those units made physical contact with the male who was taken into custody without incident. He is being held on a United States Marshal’s Probation Violation Warrant.
Arrested was 57-year-old Michael David Pickering.
