Permits issued. The total number of building permits issued in 2009 totaled 6,334, an increase of 5.2% as compared to permits issued in 2008. Coincidently, the number of building permits issued was also the ninth highest on record.

Residential. Building Services issued 513 single-family units, up from the 509 units from 2008.
