Shannon VerHey, Assistant City Engineer, will conduct a press meeting at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the location of the sanitary sewer repair project to provide an update on the progress of the project and to observe the installation of the replacement pipe.

The media will be provided a tour of the work area and will have access to the location where the new pipe is being installed inside the damaged pipe.

The jobsite is located near the intersection of Main Avenue and Walnut Street which is located one block north and two blocks east of the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and Russell Street. City staff will provide hard hats and safety vests that will be required to enter the work area.

The project consists of installing approximately 850 feet of 32 inch diameter pipe within the damaged section of pipe. The pipe is being installed by Lametti and Sons, Inc. with assistance from H & W Contracting.
