At approximately 2.23 p.m. on September 6, 2010, officers from the Sioux Falls Police department, as well as Rural/Metro Ambulance and Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue, responded to the 900 block of South Menlo Avenue on report of a stabbing.

The subsequent investigation showed that a domestic disturbance had led to the assault of an adult female and young child. The victims were transported to Sanford Hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

The male subject, identified as 28-year-old Justin Scott Doescher, was arrested for one count of aggravated assault on the adult female, one count of simple assault on the young child, and interference with emergency communications.
