Partnership:
The Environmental Division of the Office of Public Works is continuing its outreach to educate the public about the City’s efforts to protect our local water resources. The City is partnering with the AmeriCorps Volunteers
Location: City staff and AmeriCorps Volunteers shall be installing storm drain inlet markers and distributing education door hangers to households in the following area:
- North boundary 33rd Street
- South boundary 57th Street
- East boundary Cliff Avenue
- West boundary Minnesota Avenue
When: This activity shall be carried out on September 9, 2010.
Objective: The City’s adopted slogan is: “No Dumping! It Goes Into Our School”. The intent of this program is to educate the public that storm drains discharge directly to surface waters of the state and thereby discourages dumping of wastes directly to the storm sewer system. Together we can protect and improve our environment.
If you have any questions or need any additional information on this project please do not hesitate to contact Bob Kappel or Matt Tobias of the Public Works Environmental Division at 367-8276.
