The Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Area Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is the comprehensive document that strives to preserve the quality of life and economic vitality by providing guidelines for a safe and efficient transportation system. In a Market Research Analysis conducted to support the LRTP, the public surveyed stated that one of the most important guiding objectives the City should strive for is the preservation of the access across the City of Sioux Falls. The Cliff Avenue Corridor is one of the most important north/south corridors in the City of Sioux Falls.

The City of Sioux Falls intends to widen Cliff Avenue from 57th Street to 69th Street and to reconstruct Cliff Avenue from 69th Street to 85th Street to a 4 lane urban section with a landscaped median. In addition, an analysis of Cliff Avenue from 49th Street to 57th Street is included in this project to comprehensively look at this corridor and identify needs for the future traffic volumes. The City of Sioux Falls is studying this entire corridor on Cliff Avenue from 49th Street to 85th Street and information located on this website contains information used in the study. If you have any questions on this study, please contact the City Engineering Office at 367-8601.
