Interstate 90 and Interstate 229 The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be reconstructing all ramps at the Interstate 90 and 229 systems interchange and the northbound and southbound lanes on I229 this summer. On April 29, the project started. The northbound lanes were closed to traffic on I229 and are now completely repaved and open to traffic. Currently, the eastbound to southbound I229 ramp is closed. The westbound to southbound I90 ramp remains open to drivers. The contractor is working on preparing the southbound lanes for paving. Drivers should expect to be detoured to Benson Road and Cliff Avenue at various times of the project. The overall completion of the project is expected in late September.
